Bungamati is a Newar town south of Patan, known for temple squares and woodcarving. Spend an hour exploring the public lanes around the main square; ask before entering workshops or photographing people at work. Temple interiors, demonstrations and purchases may have separate access rules or charges. Confirm transport back to Patan before arriving late in the day.
