About this spot
Changu Narayan is a Vishnu temple on a ridge north of Bhaktapur. Walk up through the village to the courtyard and look closely at the stone sculptures and carved timber struts. Allow 60–90 minutes plus travel. Check heritage entry at the ticket counter; the temple remains a place of worship, with restrictions inside the sanctuary.
Changu Narayan is one of the seven monument zones that make up the Kathmandu Valley UNESCO World Heritage property.
