Plan an Everest Base Camp trek via Lukla and Namche, with 17 days from Kathmandu, acclimatization stops and flight buffers.

About this spot
Everest Base Camp is a high-altitude trek through the Khumbu to about 5,364 m. This staged plan includes rest days at Namche and Dingboche and does not add Kala Patthar automatically.
Flight notice checked 17 September 2026: Tara Air lists Ramechhap operations for Lukla from 25 September to 15 December 2026. Confirm your own airline, date and transfer arrangements.
Suggested Kathmandu-return plan:
Day 1 — Reach the operating departure airport; overnight nearby if needed.
Day 2 — Fly to Lukla; walk to Phakding.
Day 3 — Phakding to Monjo.
Day 4 — Monjo to Namche Bazaar.
Day 5 — Acclimatization day in Namche.
Day 6 — Namche to Tengboche.
Day 7 — Tengboche to Pangboche.
Day 8 — Pangboche to Dingboche.
Day 9 — Acclimatization day in Dingboche.
Day 10 — Dingboche to Thukla.
Day 11 — Thukla to Lobuche.
Day 12 — Lobuche to Gorak Shep; rest after arrival.
Day 13 — Visit Everest Base Camp; return to Gorak Shep.
Day 14 — Descend to Pheriche.
Day 15 — Pheriche to Namche.
Day 16 — Namche to Lukla.
Day 17 — Fly out; return to Kathmandu via the operating airport.
Demanding: sustained altitude and cold, with several long walking days. March–May and October–November are usual seasons. Add at least 2–3 flight-buffer days and more time if needed for acclimatization. Confirm lodges, weather and flight operations before setting out.
Keep the acclimatization stops. Do not climb higher with altitude-sickness symptoms; worsening symptoms require descent and medical help. Confirm permits and guide requirements for your nationality.
