Gosaikunda Lake Trek
Trek to Gosaikunda at 4,380 m via Dhunche with staged overnight stops; disrupted Rasuwa access needs checking first.

Gosaikunda is a sacred mountain lake in Rasuwa. This nine-day out-and-back plan uses Dhunche and Laurebina, without crossing Laurebina La.
Access checked 17 September 2026: September reporting describes damaged Rasuwa roads. Supplies reached Dhunche by road, but routes beyond it remained disrupted. Confirm the exact approach, trail and lodges locally before using this itinerary.
Suggested Kathmandu-return plan:
Day 1 — Kathmandu to Dhunche, only with confirmed access.
Day 2 — Walk to the Deurali/Dhimsa area.
Day 3 — Continue to Chandanbari (Sing Gompa).
Day 4 — Acclimatization day at Chandanbari.
Day 5 — Walk to Cholangpati.
Day 6 — Continue to Laurebina.
Day 7 — Visit Gosaikunda, about 4,380 m; return to Laurebina.
Day 8 — Descend to Dhunche.
Day 9 — Return to Kathmandu.
Demanding because of the ascent and altitude. Keep at least two spare days; March–May and October–November are usual seasons when access permits. Snow or lodge closures can change the plan.
Keep the acclimatization stops. Do not climb higher with altitude-sickness symptoms; worsening symptoms require descent and medical help. Confirm permits and guide requirements for your nationality.
The lake is a major pilgrimage destination during Janai Purnima.
