About this spot

Jamacho is a forest hike inside the Nagarjun section of Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. Start at Fulbari Gate near Balaju Bypass and climb to the monastery and viewpoint at about 2,100 m. Allow 3–5 hours return; the stepped ascent makes this a moderate hike.

Budget 20–45 minutes for the drive from central Kathmandu, longer in traffic. Buy park entry, arrange the required guide and confirm the exit time at the gate. Carry water and lunch, stay on authorised trails and return before sunset.
