About this spot
A short pond-side walk and seated break in central Kathmandu, with current path and pond conditions worth checking.
SUGGESTED TIME
30–60 minutes. Durations are planning estimates, not opening hours.
A SIMPLE OUTING
Walk the accessible pond edge → choose an available seat → return by the open entrance. Keep the route short if sections are narrow or closed.
GETTING THERE & ACCESS
Choose Kamal Pokhari in Kathmandu, not Kamal Binayak in Bhaktapur. Municipal reporting documents park works and gates. Water levels, maintenance and usable paths vary; festival visits may be busy. Confirm opening hours locally.
ENTRY & OPTIONAL COSTS
An August 2025 visitor account reports free entry, but no current municipal tariff was found. Free covers the reported ordinary pond-side walk; travel and purchases are separate.
RESEARCH CHECKED
15 September 2026. Check current notices before travelling.
