About this spot
Khopra Danda is an Annapurna ridge trek with community-lodge stops and views from about 3,660 m. The route goes up through Dobato and returns through Swanta. The much higher Khayer Lake extension is not included.
Suggested Kathmandu-return plan:
Day 1 — Kathmandu to Pokhara.
Day 2 — Drive toward Ghandruk; walk from the usable roadhead.
Day 3 — Ghandruk to Tadapani.
Day 4 — Tadapani to Dobato.
Day 5 — Dobato to Upper Chistibung.
Day 6 — Upper Chistibung to Khopra Danda.
Day 7 — Stay on the ridge; choose a short walk or rest.
Day 8 — Descend to Swanta.
Day 9 — Walk through Ghorepani toward Ulleri.
Day 10 — Reach the roadhead; return to Pokhara.
Day 11 — Pokhara to Kathmandu.
Moderate to demanding, with long hills and limited upper accommodation. Book ridge lodges ahead and keep 1–2 spare days. March–May and October–November are usual seasons. Confirm weather and the operating roadhead before departure.
Keep the acclimatization stops. Do not climb higher with altitude-sickness symptoms; worsening symptoms require descent and medical help. Confirm permits and guide requirements for your nationality.
