Start in Kirtipur’s old town and follow the public lanes between Bagh Bhairab and nearby squares. This is a short neighbourhood walk; allow about an hour, with extra time for food or temple visits. Expect slopes, steps and residential streets. Ask before entering courtyards or photographing residents, and check any temple-specific admission rules.
Kirtipur occupies a ridge above the Tribhuvan University campus, giving the old town a different outlook from the valley-floor cities.
