The National Museum in Chhauni brings together art, military history and archaeological collections in several buildings. Allow one to two hours, with extra time if you want to read the gallery displays. Check which galleries are open, the weekly closure and the applicable entry ticket before travelling. It can be combined with a separate visit to nearby Swayambhu.
The museum’s collections grew from an arsenal: a storehouse for weapons used in Nepal’s wars.
