Pashupatinath is an active Hindu pilgrimage and cremation site on the Bagmati River. Non-Hindus cannot enter the main temple; riverside viewpoints offer a different way to visit. Follow staff instructions, dress respectfully and avoid intrusive photography at the cremation ghats. Admission depends on the permitted area and visitor category. Check the evening aarati schedule locally.

Maha Shivaratri is one of the temple’s largest annual pilgrimages.
