The Panimuhan–Nagi Gumba–Baghdwar–Shivapuri Peak route is a rewarding full-day hike for friends seeking forest trails, monastery stops and wide Himalayan views close to Kathmandu. The trail lies inside Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park; official park information lists this as an established route and requires visitors to obtain entry permits and use a guide. Current official guidance also prohibits walking between sunset and sunrise, so start early and leave enough time to descend in daylight. Carry water, lunch, rain protection and a small first-aid kit, wear grippy hiking shoes and keep the group together.
