About this spot

The Sundarijal–Mulkharka return hike follows stone steps and forest paths into the village above the reservoir. Allow 4–6 hours with stops, plus 60–90 minutes each way for transport from central Kathmandu. This moderate outing turns around at Mulkharka, roughly 1,800–1,900 m; Chisapani is a longer route.

Buy park entry, arrange the required guide and check the gate’s exit time. Carry water, lunch and rain protection. Steps can be slippery, especially during monsoon rain; stay away from waterfall edges and return before sunset.
