Sundarijal–Mulkharka–Chisapani Hike
Follow the Sundarijal–Mulkharka trail toward Chisapani, with a planned turnaround for a same-day Kathmandu return.
About this spot
The trail from Sundarijal climbs through Mulkharka into Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park toward Chisapani. It combines stone steps, forest and village sections. Reaching Chisapani and returning is a demanding extension: agree a shorter turnaround with your guide if you need to finish the same day. An overnight trip needs separate accommodation and return planning.
Park entry and a guide are required, and walking after sunset is prohibited. Start early, carry water, food and rainwear, and confirm trail conditions at Sundarijal. Do not treat the park’s one-way walking estimate as a return-trip duration.
