About this spot

The Sundarijal–Mulkharka–Chisapani trail is a classic group hike combining rushing water, stone steps, forest and hill settlements on the eastern side of Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. Official park material identifies Sundarijal–Mulkharka–Chisapani as an established route. Visitors need a park permit and current rules require a guide; walking between sunset and sunrise is prohibited. The full outing is demanding, so start early, choose a turnaround time and check whether your group is prepared for the distance and elevation. Bring water, snacks, rain protection and a first-aid kit, and wear shoes with good traction because steps can be slippery. Confirm entry fees, guide arrangements, weather and trail conditions at Sundarijal before beginning. Photo: Sushil Simkhada / Wikimedia Commons, CC BY-SA 4.0.
